Two persons were killed and several others injured, some of them seriously when a City Bus they were traveling in met with an accident at Nagaland Civil Secretariat junction in Kohima today. The accident occurred at around 11 am.

            Eye witness accounts said that the City Bus, bearing the Registration No NL-01/B 591 coming from High School junction in high speed turned turtle apparently, after failing to negotiate the sharp turning at the Secretariat junction. Two commuters were killed on the spot and the injured were immediately taken to various clinics in the town. The victims were identified as Atsose Sangtam, Stenographer in the Nagaland Secretariat and Sato, hailing from Kikruma village and working as a peon in Transport Department, Civil Secretariat.

            The injured were immediately taken to Naga Hospital Kohima, Oking Hospital and other clinics. The cause of the accident, whether it was due to human error or mechanical failure, is not immediately known.
