Governor inaugurates eModop at Chief Secretary’s conference hall on Feb 29

Kohima, February 29 (DIPR): E-MODOP, a portal and On Line Public Grievance Redressal system, www.emodop.com was formally launched by the Governor of Nagaland today at the Civil Secretariat.  

Inaugurating the new portal, the Governor expressed extreme happiness to launch the On Line Service, which is in fact an implementation of the Good Governance and e-Governance Project in Nagaland. He said the service has been launched and now it is up to the officials of the different departments to see that it benefits the people. He called on the officials to be prompt in redressing and answering the queries coming through this portal saying that they should be categorical in their replies showing transparency and accountability.

The Governor further said that e-MODOP is a powerful tool for the people through which they can seek redressal of their grievances and keep the government officials on their toes.

Advisor to the Governor, RS Pandey, also speaking at the function said that with the launching of the e-MODOP the responsibilities of Government servants have increased.
Secretary to the Governor, also in charge of IT, Abhishek Singh, giving more information on the portal said that it is not only a website for grievances and redressals but also a facility for the various government departments to create free e-mail accounts.

As part of the e-MODOP Project the portal www.emodop.com has been developed on which services are being offered. Amongst the many services proposed to be offered, one is On Line Public Grievances Redressal System. Through this system, citizens can submit their grievances on-line. Upon successful submission, a unique Grievance No. is generated and provided to the complainant. Each Department will have a Nodal Officer to handle the grievances and the concerned Department on receipt of the grievance will pass appropriate orders for redressal of the grievance along with fixing a time limit for the redressal. These orders and the time limit will be updated on the Website and the citizens can actually track action taken of the grievance with the help of their unique grievance number.
