| 56th Plenary Session Of Nec To Be Held |

The 56th Plenary Session of the NEC will be held at Agartala, on 12th and 13th May 2008. Deputy Secretary i/c DIPR, NEC Secretariat Shillong, S. Mitra has informed that the Vision 2020 document which has been formulated at the initiative of NEC to chart out a roadmap of long term economic planning and development of the North East region would be placed for adoption by NEC during the session.
As per the decision of the Chairman, NEC, the adoption of the document by all the NE states would be ratified by signing of a statement endorsing the Vision NER 2020 document by the members of NEC, which would constitute a very important event in the developmental history of the North Eastern Region.
